Parents to sue over discarded embryo

A landmark suit is currently being argued in Illinois. A couple is suing a fertility clinic that threw away their fertilized egg. Judge Jeffrey Lawrence declared that ``a pre-embryo is a 'human being' ... whether or not it is implanted in its mother's womb.'' He also added that the couple is as entitled to seek compensation as any parents whose child has been killed. These parents have made the choice that the embryo is a life, and it has value. Will the court follow through with its decision or will it indicate that life is discardable.
