Parental Notification

Washington has introduced a bill that will require parental notification when a minor receives any type of body-piercing. This does not include piercing of the ears. One legislator stated, "We want to protect young people from decisions that may cause them disfigurement or consternation later in life." It is also worth adding Washington has no parental notification laws for abortion. Apparently there is no need to protect young people from an ill advised decision to have an abortion.
