The Klan vs. Dr. Rice
As Condi Rice continues to get hammered by the left about being a liar, it is interesting to see that one of her chief critics is none other than Senator Robert Byrd from West Virginia. Robert Byrd was admitted being member of the KKK up until the late 1940's. He now has the task of confirming a black woman for Secretary of State. One can only imagine what is going through his head. Keep in mind the following quotes, attributed to Robert Byrd:
He would never serve in the military "with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."Whether he has changed and is now truly unbiased towards blacks no one will know. My point is this. I cannot see how this is has escaped the national media's attention. I've have yet to read an article that have mentioned Senator Byrd's past. (Yahoo News, New York Times, Washington Post, the list could go on.)
